Are you looking for a new car? If you are, there are several models available to you for under $ 15,000. Twelve are mentioned here, thirteen, if the Nissan Versa to be released later this summer. Increased competition has this great time to buy a new car, so to compare, shop and save!

Chevrolet Cobalt - With the MSRP of under $ 13,000, this Chevrolet model is one of the lowest prices of vehicles manufactured in the United States at competitive prices when you realize that few new car models prices are so low. If Cobalt price still is not low enough for you, then Chevrolet's market Aveo , vehicle imports from South Korea's GM subsidiary Daewoo.Aveo retails for only $ 9890!

Honda Civic Coupe - It is getting harder to find a Civic under $ 15,000. Why is this so? Well, the Honda Civic has been gradually pushing the market in an attempt to compete against the Nissan Sentra and Toyota Corolla. Do not worry, Honda is about to publish a car even smaller [and cheaper] than Civic: $ 12,000 Fit will be in Honda showrooms later this year

Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Elantra - Leave it to Hyundai to have two cars in their line up that sell for under $ 15,000. Starting from just $ 12,455 Accent GLS is bargain basement, but not stripped. The car comes with four-wheel disc brakes, 8 way adjustable driver's seat, ABS i.Elantra is slightly up market and sell for about $ 1,300 more than the Accent.

Kia and Kia Spectra - With the MSRP listed at $ 11, 110 Kia Rio is the lowest price four-door car sales in the U.S. Recent upgrades for the model includes several safety features: six airbags, impact absorbing steering column, front and rear crumple zones and side impact door beams. Select the Spectra for a car that is better appointed and larger than Rio.

Saturn ION - The base model of a small car from Tennessee currently retailing around $ 13.500, but that the price drop in May in the second half of the year as the GM wants to move a couple of slow car sales, including ION

Toyota Corolla - Always competitive, the Corolla is priced at $ 14,105, and is considered by industry leaders that have the highest quality among all small cars on tržištu.Niže prices model, the Echo, has been discontinued, but the new model, Yaris , will appear later this year and retail for about $ 12,000.

Scion XA and Scion xB - Two of the three models for sale, Toyota Generation "Y" division, Scion, as per price under $ 15.000.XA starts around $ 13,500 and the xB sells for about $ 1,000 more than that.

So are the days of finding transportation under $ 15,000 will soon be behind us? On the contrary, with 2007 import cars from China under $ 10,000 category will soon have a new life as a vehicle from Chery and Geely hit U.S. showrooms pushing new prices down as low as $ 6600! As a result, Ford, Dodge, and others are looking at ways to build and import cars overseas or in Mexico, which will sell for more than the current base model.

New Hyundai Accent puts accent on 40 mpg

Hyundai introduced a third model for its stable of 40 mpg cars today at the New York show with the rollout of the 2012 Accent subcompact. Others are the recently introduced Elantra compact and Sonata midsize sedan hybrid. A fourth, the Veloster sporty coupe, arrives this summer. The Accent goes on sale next month.

The company is doing its best to make 40 the new 30 when it comes to advertising fuel efficiency. And CEO John Krafcik once again today hammered the Hyundai theme that its 40 mpg cars "have no asterisk," i.e. the ratings are for standard models, not specially equipped or extra-price versions of the car.

So did planning product chief Mike O'Brien, who presented the Accent. "These vehicles achieve 40 mpg highway without any additional cost or sacrificing (features and amenities) for a high fuel-economy package, making them more attractive to general car buyers," said O'Brien.

Krafcik also said that a result of this philosophy is that in the first quarter Hyundai sold about 30,000 40-mpg cars (since every Elantra counts), while rivals together sold about 5,000 of their special models. He said Hyundai projects selling 200,000 40-mpg cars this year; 285,000 next year.

As gas prices keep rising, the message could have legs, not only with buyers, but as an image booster for the brand.

As for the new Accent: As with the new Elantra and Sonata, Hyundai created a whole lot better car than the previous model, enough to push the bar for the segment in which it competes.

It has Hyundai's now trademark swoopy design that looks more expensive than it is. It's roomy -- the rear seat Drive On sat in would shame some compact cars. It has top mpgs (40 highway, 30 city) for the class. It has value pricing: $12,445 base (shipping extra, but Bluetooth standard) up to $16,795 all in with a full plate of options. And it has a 10-year warranty.

We'll see how it drives, but those attributes already are pretty much all buyers ask for in this class: looks, fuel efficiency, value, dependability.

Tomorrow, corporate cousin Kia will show its similar new Rio, different looks and personality, but same basic value proposition aimed to take on formidable rivals in the class, particularly the Ford Fiesta and Honda Fit, in a way the previous models could not.
