How has the Detroit Auto Show Changed Over the Years?



You can bet that as the 104th anniversary is celebrated this year, it has undergone some significant changes. Not the least of which is its position as one of the most important international shows in the calendar.

In the international position would not be possible in Detroit, the managers of events since 1907, did not seek to raise it from a regional auto show catering to intrigue the Detroit car event that celebrates the manufacturers from around the world. In the beginning

This is the first Detroit show boasted 33 cars from 17 exhibitors. Not only would home the hardware: it was held at Beller's Beer Garden and will probably show-goer could enjoy the draft and the fender or two. Then 16 dealers gathered to underwrite the event, and it was the beginning of DADA.

In three short years the event has grown Beller and moved to Wayne Gardens in 1910, during the biggest available space in the city. In '21 and '22 was at Morgan and Wright building, because the continued growth in the number of exhibitors.
